Secret Cruises

What is a Secret Cruise?

For travellers seeking to explore exotic locations where there are no hotels, Secret Cruises offer the ideal moveable voyage. Hop onboard a beautifully designed, full-service vessel, and allow your senses to embrace the wonders of a slower paced journey in comfort.

Be it on a river, lake or at sea, experience everything from simple village life along the Mekong River, to uninhabited deserted tropical islands to lush rainforests teaming with wildlife. Cruises are available for fixed departure dates throughout the year as well as private charters.

Our Story

After his voyage, Kim grasps the mission that his father had assigned to him—besides its exclusive properties, to also inform contemplative travellers about quaint inns, exotic cruises, private villas, and idyllic restaurants, which unveil a true essence of Asia.

Along my travels across Asia I meet a few hosts whom own magnificent sailing vessels. Wishing to share their nautical passion, they invite me onboard their charming floating hotels to introduce me to more distant lands, immerse in nature, and experience the local people’s unique culture and charms.

I board a traditional Indonesian Phinisi akin to boats once used by the Bugis seafarers from south Sulawesi. We sail to uninhabited islands in East Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, the West Coast of Malaysia and the Andaman Islands. Magnificently designed, every corner of the wondrous vessel is authentic, yet it features all the modern day comforts. Lying in bed at night in my spacious cabin that is adorned with plush linens and Indonesian furnishings, the gentle waves slowly rocking the boat back and forth quickly lull me into a deep sound sleep. I awake each day feeling refreshed, eager to savour delicious cuisine served both in the dining area and out on the open deck. A soft sea breeze caresses by face and I marvel at the breath-taking views, especially at sunset. Thanks to the on-board dive facility, I not only discover pristine landscapes and diverse cultures, I also get to explore the sublime marine life that dwells beneath these crystal blue waters.

Later, I experience exceptional river cruises on both colonial vessels and classic wooden riverboats. We head down the mighty Mekong River, the Irrawaddy River in Burma and the Chao Phraya River in Thailand to witness rural life as it was in the days of yore. Each cruise unlocks different mysteries. All are enchanting. An Orangutan River Cruise in the rainforests of Borneo is an equally enriching delight.

Accessible only by boat to showcase the indispensable link that many people in Asia have with their seas, rivers and lakes, my soul embraces this new dimension of travel.
